- 2005 McNemar,
Harold G., 80, formerly of Orlando, Florida and residing in Deland, Florida passed
away March 30, 2005. He was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on August 27, 1924,
was a WWII veteran serving as a B-24 Navigator and was married to his high school
sweetheart, Jean, for over 60 years. They lived in Orlando for more than 50 years
and he retired from the United States Post Office. His love of woodworking made
his years of retirement most rewarding and enjoyable. He was a member of The Alliance
Chapel in Deland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey and Bessie
McNemar and sister Betty Lantz. He is survived by his loving wife, Mapel Jean
McNemar, three daughters, Dianna (Bob) LaBreck, Cosby,TN, Darlene Whisenant, Orlando,
FL and Denise (Greg) Hughes, West Plains, MO. He is also survived by two sisters,
Jan (David) Stoop, Newport Beach, CA and Sylvia (Don) Jacobson, Lockport, NY,
brother Frank (Jean) McNemar, Northport, FL.sister-in-law Wilma (Bob) Bruner,
Elkins, WV, brother-in-law Fred (Dorothy) Lantz, Seville, Ohio. Survived by
7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, he was
loved and will be truly missed by all of his family and friends. Arrangements

Varela 1930 - 2005
VARELA,
FELIX, 75, formerly of South Miami now residing in Tampa, passed away on March
21st in Brandon, Florida. He is survived by his daughter Iris (Ralph) of Tampa,
3 Grandchildren Brian, Veronica and Adriana, 6 brothers and sisters. Family will
receive friends from 6:30pm to 10pm Wednesday (Today) at the South Miami Lutheran
Church 7190 SW 72nd Street. Funeral Services will be held Thursday 10am also at
church with entombment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park North. Arrangements

F. Dennis III 1915 - 2005 DENNIS
III, EDWIN F., a resident of Hialeah, FL since 1947, a WW II Army Veteran and
a graduate of the Army's Marine Engineering Officers School. He served as an Engineering
Officer in Small Ships Section, Water Division, Transportation Corps U.S. Army.
The poorly armed ships were dubbed " Mc Arthur's Navy," during the early
Papuan/New Guinea Campaign WW II, on what was thought to be one of the oldest
(1885) U.S. flagged ships that operated in a combat zone in WW II. The "Navy"
was a motley collection of poorly armed coastal vessels hastily assembled to help
the U.S. and Australian Armies to save Australia in the early days of WW II when
the Japanese Army was within 150 miles of Australia. Later he also served on a
high-speed "armed" medical evacuation ship attached to the 13th General
Hospital in New Guinea. And he participated in the "ANZAC" parade in
1980. He was awarded several war campaign decorations including South West Pacific
War Zone ribbon and the Combat ribbons, and Philippine Liberation ribbon. He was
an author, editor, and columnist for several engineering and yachting magazines.
Born 9/13/15 in Brooklyn, N.Y., he retired from the Facility Dept. of Pan American
Airways in 1975. A life member of Oleeta Masonic and a 32' Scottish Rite Mason,
Miami. He was awarded, in Oct. 1988, a plaque by the Hialeah Fire Dept. And in
1992 a plaque for his volunteer work at Veteran's Hospital. He also wrote a Chaplain's
Log column on religion and philosophy. He contributed words and pictures to the
recently published book, "Forgotten Fleet 2" (Forefleet Publishing 2004),
the story about the WW II push to get the Japanese out of "Bloody" Buna,
Papua/N.G., and its 8546 American and Australian casualties. Formerly a member
of the Hialeah Planning & Zoning Board and a member of the Hialeah Code Enforcement
Board for over 13 years. Also a member of the Advisory Board for Vocational Training,
Dade County Board of education, for over 14 years. He was a Life Member of Post
11 American Veterans and the Amer. Legion Post 67. He is survived by his wife,
of over 68 years, Ruth; a daughter, Donna D. Sandifer, son-in-law, John R. Sandifer
III; 4 grandchildren: Wayne, Donna, John Robert IV, and Linda R.; 4 great-grandchildren:
Ashley, Caitlyn, Brandon Lee, and Trevor. The eulogy will be followed by a Church
then Masonic and Military Services (by American Legion Roy Levi Post) Saturday
2-12-05. Family will receive friends at 10:30 A.M. services at 11:30 A.M. at Miami
Lakes United Methodist Church, 14800 Ludlam Road. Burial in family plot in Vista

Carolina Ocampo Bryan, age 23, of Miami, Fla., died Thursday, January 27, 2005,
at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. She was the daughter of
Leopoldo Ocampo and Maria. Arrangements are being handled by Florida Funeral

Ann Jensen 1925 - 2000 JENSEN,
MERLE ANN (Harvey), 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother,
passed away peacefully December 4, 2004. She was born in October 2, 1925 in Lake
Worth, FL. A graduate of Emory University, School of Nursing (R.N.), she was in
the first graduating class of Cadet Nurses in 1946. She married her beloved Victor,
an Air Engineer in 1947, in Lake Worth. In 1949, they moved to Miami, FL where
they lived for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and
William Harvey, brother William Harvey and sister Mary Venn, all of Lake Worth,
FL. She was a member of South Miami Lutheran Church, the Nurse Associates (formerly
of Baptist Hospital), The Vizcayans, and Laureate Beta Kappa Sorority. Many years
before, she was a member of the Dig and Dream Garden Club and the Early Birds
bowling league at Bowl-O- Mat Lanes. Merle was a woman of character and a very
gracious lady, one who loved to spend time with her family and take walks, with
them, along the beach at Sanibel Island. She had a great sense of humor and always
spoke her mind. She enjoyed volunteer work, which included the Peanut Butter Gang
at South Miami Lutheran Church. They made sandwiches for the needy. She retired
from Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1985. Her strength and determination amazed
us all. She will be greatly missed by her family and those whose lives she touched
throughout her 79 years. She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Victor
Jensen; her daughters Christine Jensen and Victoria Casabo (Manuel) and her son
Michael (Dana); her grandchildren, Yolanda (Casabo) Jaramillo, Mark Casabo, Nicole
and Lauren Jensen; and her great grandchildren Ashlie and Devin Jaramillo. Services
to be held at South Miami Lutheran Church, 7190 Sunset Drive, Miami, FL on Wednesday,
December 8th. Family will visit with friends at 10:00 AM. Service to begin at
10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Woodlawn South, 11655 SW 117th Avenue, Miami,
FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to South Miami

PATRICIA ANN
GARGIS, age 60 of Orlando, Florida passed away June 15, 2000. She was born
April 25, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee. She moved to Orlando, Florida in 1972 coming
from Muscle Shoals, Alabama. She was the owner and operator of "All Ways
in Bloom" florist in Orlando and a member of Delaney Street Baptist Church.
She is survived be her Husband Tillman of Orlando; 2 Daughters Kim (Richard)
Daugherty and Debbi (Arthur) Vermuelin both of Orlando; son Brian (Laurie) of
Miami Lakes, Florida; Brother David P. Rogers Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama; 5 Grandchildren
and one step grandchild. Services:
